THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
**We may require doctor's permission to perform treatments on clients with certain pre-existing conditions. We do not perform treatments on women who are pregnant, or on anyone who is under the age of 18. If you are a nursing mom, please contact us for more information.**
-
No caffeine and alcohol 24 hours before your appointment. Having the procedure done close to the time of your menstrual cycle will increase pain sensitivity.
-
If you would like to take an analgesic (pain killer), Tylenol is the best option as it will not thin your blood. If you are prescribed other medicines that thin your blood such as aspirin or ibuprofen please let us know before you make your appointment.
-
We want you to be as comfortable as possible. Please come to the appointment how you normally wear your makeup a daily basis. This will help you and your artist create a brow that suits your vision of beauty.
-
Microblading/Ombre eyebrows Precare:
-
-
It is not necessary to have your brows shaped waxed or threaded prior to your appointment. It will be nice to see how and where your hairs actually grow. If you insist, 48 hours prior and at least 10 days after will be recommended.
-
If you normally tint your eyebrows with hydrogen peroxide it is recommended that you do this at least 10 days prior. If you continue to do so after you've had this procedure it will cause premature fading.
-
If your skin is constantly inflamed or acne-prone, unfortunately you are not a good candidate for this procedure. Your skin is the canvas to which we deposit the pigment.
-
If your skin is compromised, it will not hold the pigment well and is more prone to an infection after each application. If you are on any type of acne medication (Accutane) you are not a good candidate for this procedure. To be considered you have to be off the medication for at least a year.
-
If you come to your appointment with any type of break out, rash, inflammation, abrasion, blemish, and bruise that is in the area that is to be worked on. We will not do the procedure.
-
Please let us know if you have any concerns with your skin prior to your appointment. Refrain from taking any supplements such as fish oil (omegas) or multivitamins a WEEK prior to your appointment. It will thin your blood and increase inflammation or swelling during procedure.
-
Refrain from any use of Retin A, Obagi, lightening, resurfacing type products for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment. It will thin your skin and not receive the pigment well. Antioxidants such as vitamin c are okay.
-
If you are sunburnt your skin will not take the pigment well. It is highly recommended that you refrain from excessive sun tanning or tanning beds 30 days prior and 30 days after.
-
If you work out, we recommend refraining from working out 24 hours prior your appointment. It is also highly recommended to refrain from working out at least 7 days AFTER your appointment. Increased blood flow will rush to your face and can make your brows more prone to swelling and darker than they have to be. Salt is a natural mineral that can pull the iron in the pigments from your brows. Since sweat contains salt, excessive sweating will cause the pigment to be pulled from your skin.
